The Magic in Time
Week three’s activity is the theme, Time. This theme was about the children’s place and time and creating the collaborative artwork. We used yarn, tape and attached plastic, tissue and yarn to create an artwork. It was interesting to see where all the children placed the materials and how they worked together.
The artwork became a visual timeline of our time making. Their decisions and their thoughts were exciting to see.. This activity mattered because the children were able to contribute, and be a part of a collaborative artwork together. Children carefully added tissue paper in a specific area. They were able to express themselves individually, but come together to create one larger work. Other children would draw on the tissue or cut it out before adding on to the tape. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s representation of the activity, and how it all formed together at the end. Children also observed how the plastic was see-through, and it was interesting for them to layer the plastic as well.
