I'm Struck
Over the course of five weeks, I had the opportunity to work with Edith Monture YMCA Kinder connection, creating a space where children could explore their creativity and build confidence in their ideas. In week 1, we began with a body tracing craft, which turned out to be an incredible success. The campers were immediately enthusiastic, pairing up to trace each other’s outlines on large sheets of paper. From there. They are decorated with so much thought and design, and really just letting their creativity take over.Â
Looking back on the five weeks I spent leading the camp, I’m struck by how much growth and connection took place—not only for the campers but for me as well. Each week brought its own challenges, discoveries and moments of joy and together they formed a journey of shared learning. Reflecting on the experience, I realized that my role was less about directing and more about facilitating space for curiosity, expression, and connection
