Cellophane, A Young Artist's Favourite!
Week three: TIME at Collegiate School was full of experimentation with the materials at hand! This week, children were provided with coloured cellophane, string, tape, and drawing utensils to create multiple banners to hang up in their rooms. The children very much enjoyed the cellophane and not only used it for their banner, but for other creative projects as well! Most children at Collegiate very much enjoyed the cellophane and realized that they could look through it, and therefore decided to make glasses for themselves!
The true creativity I witnessed here was inspiring to me as an artist! With the project and materials given, the children did not only fulfill the week’s prompt, but they used the materials to create something completely creative and interesting. When the children decided to create different things, it had a chain reaction which inspired other classmates to create something themselves! By the end of the session, we not only had two beautiful banners, but the children also made sunglasses, crowns, and arts for all name tags for themselves!
