Professional Learning
Arts For All is deeply committed to supporting the ongoing learning and growth of Artist Educators. At the beginning of each term, Arts For All designs and leads dedicated Professional Learning Access (PLA) sessions designed to strengthen pedagogical understanding, creative practice, networking and community engagement. These sessions create space for reflection, collaboration, hands-on exploration, and dialogue with guest educators and speakers and community partners.
Arts For All is building relationships and connections to learning with local municipal partners, including Affiliated Services for Children and Youth (ASCY) and Community Living. ASCY resources are actively shared and introduced to our Artist Educators as part of our knowledge-building process and collaboration with Professional Learning Consultants builds capacity and learning in after school programs. Mentorship and collaboration with Community Living Resource Consultants supports Artist Educators’ inclusive practices and accessibility within our programs.
Our professional learning is grounded in the values of the Reggio Emilia Approach, and Arts For All is a proud member of the Ontario Reggio Association (ORA). Many of our Artist Educators participate in Piazza ORA—a rich space for professional exchange and critical reflection. For those interested in deepening their engagement, we also support participation in ORA initiatives, including access to conferences and the Study Group with Tiziana Filippini.
Through these layered learning opportunities and partnerships, Artist Educators are empowered to expand their skills, deepen their reflective practice, and bring innovative, thoughtful, and community-responsive approaches to the children and families we serve.
