The KinderFest Incubator Project is a new initiative that presents professional performing artists in the exploration of developing work for early years audiences and their families.
KinderFest presents interactive and inspirational workshops with participants that support early learning. To promote high levels of engagement, our work integrates a variety of arts forms, including but not limited to: Dance, Aerialist, Drama, Circus Arts, and Sound Arts.
Our aim, with Kinderfest, is to inspire early minds. We create access to arts for everyone (artists and audiences alike) to foster community wellness.
Join Sound Explorer Dave for a ‘Sound’ Night in the Woods! Come along as he unearths the forest music and discovers the wonderful ways we can play with sound.
Dave Gould is an experimental musical performer who works with both traditional and homemade instruments as well as found objects. A ‘Sound’ Night in the Woods invites children to witness and participate with Dave’s extensive artistic practice in a whimsical environment designed to foster inspiration and imagination.
This piece will introduce the audience to musical instruments and unconventional noisemakers, such as a banjo, a jaw harp, water in a mason jar … and even an electric caribou antler harp! The end of the performance will present an opportunity to stay-and-play, where children are invited to interact with instruments such as shakers and a bass drum.
