Fabric Drive
Be part of a community art project
Each summer, the Artasia Program brings children together, community wide, to discover the transformative power of the arts through the pillars of art education, civic engagement, environmentalism, innovation, and storytelling.
This year, we’re reclaiming fabric, produce netting, and recycled materials to make art together with young people. Our focal point was on making fabric-based pieces, with a focus on wearable pieces and utilizing natural dyes.
Thank you for your support!
Artasia is thrilled to share the incredible response to our fabric drive! We collected a wide variety of materials, including shopping bags, produce bags, and scrap fabric, all generously donated by our community. A special thank you to Dawn Grant for her contribution of 40 bed sheets, which we are lovingly dying using natural dyes and repurposing for our Artasia art installation at Supercrawl.
At Artasia, we believe in the power of repurposed materials. Repurposing not only reduces waste but also sparks creativity and innovation. By embracing environmentally conscious practices, we strive to make a positive impact on our planet while creating art that tells a meaningful story.
Thank you to everyone who donates and supports our mission. Together, we create something truly special!
Additional Thanks to the Following Organizations for supplying us with materials:
Fortinos on Mall Road for donating produce netting
Jean’s Flower Shop for donating extra flowers
