Inaugural year featuring 500 young artists from across Hamilton.
ARTASIA is a new Culture for Kids in the Arts city-wide arts education initiative combining visual arts and recyclable materials. It is arts education, children, youth mentors, arts apprentices, corporations and community organizations working together to create a public art installation that expresses the children’s future vision of Hamilton.
Featured in this exhibition were eighteen, ten-foot-tall story-telling totems and 350 postcards made by over 500 children that told stories and responded to questions lead by Artasia facilitators asking “what do you love about Hamilton?” and “what would you change about Hamilton?”.
